Jan. 8th, 2003 12:47 amThe world is very odd.
"Sk8erboi" got a grammy nod in Female Rock Vocal ("Complicated" was in Female Pop Vocal). Why must they always give nomiantions to stupid pop machines? Eminem, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Nelly... various artists in that vein got nominations.
But so did Elvis Costello (Rock Album--When I Was Cruel, Male Rock Vocal--45, Alternative Music Album--Cruel Smile [a live album with crappy versions that he preformed in Tokyo, among other places]).
By far, my favorite category is Spoken Comedy. Jimmy Fallon (The Bathroom Wall), George Carlin (Complaints and Greivances), Al Franken (Oh, the things I know), Dennis Miller (the Rant Zone), and Robin Williams (Robin Williams-Live 2002).
If complaints and greivances doesn't win, I'll... I dunno.
I want Into the Woods to win Musical album, but Hairspray... I gotta download that...
If the soundtrack to I Am Sam wins, I'll like die (its just beatles covers).
This has been my anaylsis of the PDF file of the grammy nominations. Have a nice day.
